Desktop Integration Specialist

Job description

The Roanoke College Desktop Integration Specialist successfully manages technology systems and software in support of faculty/staff needs. Ensures up-to-date systems and leading edge technology for integration in the college curriculum. Ensures that the student staff has the skills through training and certifications to provide the services needed. Manages and directs new technology initiatives that enhance job performance and instructional tools for the faculty/staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and manages instructional technology systems and software in support of faculty needs, to include offices, computer labs, and classrooms
  • Lead and manage students assistants
  • Develop and maintain workflow processes that ensure a high level of support for student owned systems including applicable certifications and recommended systems
  • Ensure up-to-date, efficient, manageable desktop systems
  • Support innovation and cutting edge technology in the curriculum
  • Coordinate iPad initiative to include device management, training, and support
  • Maintain up-to-date hardware inventory
  • Effective communication with managers, coworkers and clients
  • Know and follow data information security policies


Requirements

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 3 years of IT client service experience
  • 3 years IT technical troubleshooting
  • 1 year providing technology training
  • Experience managing and designing technical systems
  • Experience implementing innovative/cutting edge technology solutions
  • Higher Education Experience preferred
  • Apple, Dell, and HP Certifications preferred
  • Reliable attendance, with occasional 'after hours' availability
  • Provides excellent client service and consulting
  • Solves problems creatively and keeps up-to-date with new technology
